Our 2008 summer vacation!
We started out by going to Washington D.C. to visit Andy and Avery. While there, we visited the National Cathedral, some of the major monuments, the National Zoo and the Simthsonian National Air and Space Museum. Then we took a train with Andy and Avery to meet Pappy and LuLu in New York City. We got to see our beloved Redlegs put a whipping on Andy and Pappy's Yankees. For the Haynes family to actually attend a Reds win is something rare, so it was especially great to see it done in the final year Yankee Stadium! The rest of the weekend was spent walking, walking and more walking! We saw Times Square, toured Radio City Music Hall, sauntered through Central Park and went up the Empire State Building. While Andy, Avery, Pappy and LuLu were at a show Saturday night, we walked along 5th Avenue and saw David Weathers, a pitcher for the Reds! Below is a video of Christina at Andy and Avery's. It was a great vacation and we all had a wonderful time!
